HR1 2019 Could End Gridlock

People in America have grown tired of the “gridlock” in Washington D.C. HR1 2019 is legislation to address this.

Between the three co-equal branches of government, Legislative, Executive and Judicial, no one seems to agree on how to govern. This division in government seems highlighted in the branch passing laws. The legislative branch is bifurcated between the Senate and House of Representatives, meaning it simply has two parts.

The Constitution of the United States mandates that the Legislative Branch of government enact legislation that promotes the “general health, safety and welfare of the people”. It appears Congress has forgotten that responsibility.

Until now.

Democrats gained control of the House in the 2018 midterms. Congress will consider legislation to achieve this. H.R. 1 is just such a bill.

HR1 For the People Act

Known as the “For the People Act”, H.R. 1 purports to implement the voice of the people.

The 116th Congress saw Democrats flip 40 seats in the House. The winning platform focused on the issues of healthcare, corruption and the environment. H.R. 1 begins addressing these issues by focusing on voting, ethics and campaign finance. These issues have plagued elections for decades.
